About Alex Fialka
My work has always been driven by a simple curiosity:
Why do organizations work the way they do — and could they work better?
Over the years, I have worked with organizations, processes, information and technology from many different perspectives.
That experience taught me that the biggest problems are rarely confined to one department, one process or one system.
They exist in the connections between them.
Enterprise Thinking brings those experiences together into a practical way of looking at organizations.
It is not about making organizations more theoretical. It is about making them easier to understand — so they can become easier to manage and improve.
Background
Alex Fialka is an executive with more than 35 years of international experience in industrial production, logistics, offshore production and maritime services. He has held leadership roles in quality, risk, procurement, operations and finance at companies including Sealand Service (Maersk Line), Anthony Veder Group, Dockwise, Heerema Fabrication Group, Flinter Ship Management and Vertom.
Across those roles the work came back to the same thing: making processes, information and responsibilities fit together. At Vertom he integrated the processes of seven divisions and close to 60 operating companies into a single management system. Earlier, he developed QARP (Quality, Assurance, Risk, Process), a method for improving business processes in any sector.
